96pt Chateauneuf du Pape Vieux Donjon...TOLD YOU SO!
I hate to say "I told you so" but when I mentioned that the Rhone Valley 2010 vintage was smoking, I wasn't kidding.
In yesterday's Wine Spectator Insider Report, Le Vieux Donjon Chateauneuf du Pape 2010 pulled down a MAJOR 96pt Score, the highest rated vintage since 1998! I've tasted my way through the 2010 vintage and there's a bevy of "could be superstars" of the vintage – VIEUX DONJON IS ONE OF THEM, and yesterday's Wine Spectator score was just icing on the cake:
With 96 points from Wine Spectator, 93-95pt Wine Advocate, & 94-96+ Rhone Report the Chateauneuf du Pape Vieux Donjon is seriously decorated and highly rated. The 2010 vintage as whole shows depth and intensity, long age-ability and racy mineral back bones. The Vieux Donjon is no exception.
The Chateauneuf du Pape Le Vieux Donjon arrived to our warehouse early this week (coinciding with the Wine Spectator Insider Report??) and is in-stock and ready to go. Our allocation is tiny and the demand for this gem is huge.
