More Perfect Scores than 2009, 2010 Bordeaux Breaking News!
James Suckling, leading Bordeaux wine critic, has just posted his Top 100 2010 Bordeaux Picks!
Earlier last week, we saw from the Wine Spectator a flurry of scores on the 2010 vintage, receiving an insight into the Wine Spectator's thoughts on the vintage. From all the 99 and 98 point scores, clearly the Wine Spectator is a fan of the vintage.
Now on Sunday, James Suckling has posted his Top 100 picks of the 2010 vintage. The list of 100 wines includes the biggest names of Bordeaux and the perennial top wines. Plus there are many great historic Chateaux on his Top 100 list that have really turned out their best wine in decades...surpassing their legendary 2009 vintage.
"The 2010 vintage in Bordeaux is truly superb...
I actually gave more perfect scores in 2010 than in 2009. These perfect wines were so moving, so impressive. They have unparalleled structure and richness, but at the same time, they have balance and harmony..." James Suckling 2/3/13.
We are still sifting through all the information from Mr. Suckling's Top 100 2010 Bordeaux list, but we wanted to get you out a highlight list quickly before these wines disappear. So in an effort to trim the list down, we are focusing in on wines other than the first growths and wines that are more obtainable. From the 100 point Pontet Canet to the 98 point Lynch Bages and the 96 point Gruaud Larose; we have you covered!
2010 has turned out truly exceptional wines and from our recent 2010 tasting with the members of the Union des Grands Crus we agree with all the recent press that the 2010 vintage is something truly unique, special and exceptional.
