2010 Is THE Vintage From Tuscany!
I am BURSTING with enthusiasm over the 2010’s being from released from Italy right now, specifially the wines from Tuscany. Ever since the wines were put-to-bed post-harvest, I have been hearing winemakers and Italian insiders clamor about how truly great the 2010’s are. The cat’s out of the bag and the wines are heralded left and right as some of the “Best Ever” from many estates:
“...In my view, 2010 will go down as one of the great all-time vintages in Tuscany. The wines show beautifully delineated aromatics, punchy fruit and vibrant, mouth-watering acidity, a combination I personally find very appealing, especially at the dinner table. Although 2010 is a vintage for classicists, the entry-level wines are drop-dead gorgeous, so there is no need to delay gratification. Stylistically, the 2010s remind me of the 2004s, but with more fruit and overall depth. The finest wines should age gracefully for years, and in some cases, decades...” Antonio Galloni (Vinous Media) August 2013.
“...Excitement for the 2010 harvest has been building for some time, and as a single group the wines are indeed exceptional. We can safely add 2010 to a list of recent standouts that includes 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2007...Le Macchiole says 2010 is their best vintage of the millennium...” The Wine Advocate 8/29/13.
As one wine after another is getting released with remarks like...
“...one of the highlights of the year...” “...one of the finest wines I have ever tasted here...” “...seamless and stunning...” “...best ever...” “...one of the great wines of the vintage...dazzling...” “...off the charts...” “...clearly the greatest ever...” “...best ever from here...” “...one of the highlights of the vintage on the Tuscan Coast...dazzling...” “...a triumph...” “...stunning...a magnificent towering wine...”
I fear many of the wines in the pages that follow will be pre-sold or sold out long before our extensive holiday catalogue comes out in early November. THIS is the vintage to buy. Take the time to read the pages that follow and cash in on some of the finest collectibles we have seen from Tuscany in a long time. I hope you share my excitement!
All my best,
