Critic Reviews
Neal Martin
91-93 Points
91-93 Points, Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2022 Larrivet Haut-Brion was tasted on two occasions. The first sample was a bit suspect, intimating a little over-ripeness. A second showing was much better. Dark berry fruit and tertiary scents unwind on the nose and draw you in, nothing ambitious but neatly delineated. The palate sashays along with a firm but fine lattice of tannins and commendable balance. It evokes the sense of Pessac-Léognan on its finish that nicks the best from Left and Right Banks. Call me smitten." 4/23
James Suckling
93-94 Points
93-94 Points, James Suckling, jamessuckling.com: "Broad and structured, but supple and sleek, with fine-grained tannins. Medium- to full-bodied. Hints of coffee beans and cedar. Solid finish. Bright." 04/23
Wine Advocate
92-94 Points
92-94 Points, Yohan Castaing, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2022 Larrivet Haut-Brion offers up aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, raspberry, violet, orange zest, iris and ripe plums, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate that's supple, seamless and elegant, its succulent core of fruit framed by velvety tannins, concluding with a floral finish. A blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc—the most significant portion of this grape variety ever used at this estate run by Bruno Lemoine—this is one of the most interesting wines that this estate has produced in recent years. It matured in 15% amphorae, 50% new barrels and the balance in tanks." 4/23
